Hello Pittsburgh Shambhala Members and Friends,

On Thursday evening, February 22, you are warmly invited to join us in celebrating Shambhala Day and our New Year – the Year of the Earth Dog.   Shambhala Day is a time of community practice and celebration to mark the new year according to the Tibetan lunar calendar, and it is the most important Shambhala Holiday.  On Shambhala Day, we express our appreciation for our teachers and teachings, and also for our connection to each other and the basic goodness that binds us together.  We have an evening planned that includes practice, ceremony, food, and community. This celebration also incorporates the Shambhala Sadhana, a guided meditation and chant on the basic goodness of each of us and society.

Here's the schedule for our celebration:

5:30 - Pot Luck - please bring a dish to share

    6:30 - Community Announcements

7:00 - Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche Shambhala Day address

    7:30 - Shambhala Sadhana

8:30 - Casting of the I-Ching and Closing Chants

    9:00 - Program ends

Come for all or part of this celebration.
