Shambhala Pittsburgh is happy to offer a weekthün from Monday 1/28/19 to Sunday 2/3/19.  Weekthüns are in-depth practice retreats and a powerful introduction to and deepening of mindfulness-awareness meditation.

During these programs, the practice goes beyond sitting on a meditation cushion; every aspect of daily life becomes part of the mindful discipline of rediscovering the present moment and our own hearts and minds.

Each day consists of a full schedule of sitting and walking meditation, Buddhist chants, talks/study, contemplative meals and a short work session. Since this is a city weekthün, you will return home each evening and return refreshed each morning to resume practice. Silence and functional speech are observed for much of the week.  The simplicity of the daily routine provides a welcome alternative to a world of speed and multi-tasking and, bit by bit, we become friends with the present moment.

Feel free to sign up for the whole week, part of the week, or a single day.

Planning your arrival time: To minimize disruptions to participants, the door will be open for timed arrivals, after which it will be locked.  People may leave at any time, but we ask that you plan to arrive at one of these entry times:
